This blog created itself from the fiery depths of a hypomanic mind.

Greetings Fellow Traveler (or otherwise interested party):

I started this site in a flash of impulse, thinking that I had a clever title for a blog and wouldn’t it be interesting if I recorded all of my crazy thoughts so that I could come back when I wasn’t quite so crazy and see what I had been thinking. Well, let’s just say that things progressed beyond my control and that this blog has evolved.

What happened is that when people would search for “lithium” on whatever search engine, my blog would pop right up, to the point that lots of people looking for information on lithium and bipolar disorder would end up here. Being the socially conscience person that I am, I felt guilty that innocent people sincerely looking for information on a very serious subject were going through the trouble of clicking on the link to my site just to find a bunch of crazy drivel. So, I started trying to present some information and write about the experience of being bipolar, hoping to make it worth someone’s while to click on that link.

If you are reading this, then you are probably one of those people. I hope that you get something out of your visit to this site. I am no doctor, not even a psychologist or nurse (though my mother was, does that count?). I’m just someone who likes to read and research things out of a nagging compulsion to know. I’m a fairly well-educated person and like to think that I have a pretty good analytical ability. But, like I said, I have no special qualifications, so take things cum grano salis. (I do, however, have a degree in Latin.)

BTW, unless you want constant updates whenever I change a period to a comma or add a new tag, don’t put this site on your RSS. It will just really annoy you.

…hi. It’s been a while since you posted and I was wondering if you’re doing alright.

Chaos reigns right now, but I’m still here. Many, many crazy things have been happening, but I’m proud to say that despite everything, I’m doing ok. I hate my psychiatrist, but all things considered, I’m managing. Thanks for asking!

I don’t know you, but from the Sybil quote, I think that you must be pretty cool. I am work right now, illegally usign someone else’s computer. I cannot stand corporate life and I get treated like crap from most folks here. Anyway, greetings from MDOT in Mississippi.

So… you know New Year’s is over and you can stop the party now, right? Just checking in to make sure everything’s good.

Well, something crazy has happened. I’ve come out into the real world. So basically I’m doing ok and living life (as much as I can for now), with very little introspection, which is a relief after so much for so long. I even push the cart when we go grocery shopping (though it is still “we”).

And then there’s Facebook. I’ve reconnected with a lot of old friends from back when I was a person with a full personality and life, and that’s really helping me to regain some of what I lost. I know, Facebook, blah blah blah, but I went to what was basically a boarding school for two years of my high school life, and really made some deep connections.
